Danforth Art Annual: 2016 Juried Exhibition

Danforth Art Museum\School presents the Danforth Art Annual: 2016 Juried Exhibition (formerly Off the Wall and Community of Artists), a highly anticipated exhibition featuring some of the top artistic talent in New England. One hundred forty three works by artists at all stages of their careers were selected for the exhibition by Danforth Art Curator and 2016 Juror Jessica Roscio. The exhibition includes both artists who may be familiar to our audiences and those who are new to Danforth Art.

“The range of media and themes represented made the selection process incredibly difficult." says Jessica Roscio. "I was excited to see new takes on traditional media, such as sculpture, painting, and printmaking."

A color reduction silkscreen print was chosen as part of this exhibition. The show runs June 19–August 21, 2016.

Halfway Through the Dark: New Center NOW & the West End Museum

8 Night, 8 Windows: Halfway Through the Dark

Funded through an Artist grant from the New Center for Arts and Culture and CJP in partnership with the Boston Jewish Music Festival and the Boston Jewish Film Festival.

A sculptural installation, in collaboration with artist Christian Meade, made of found and collected objects, the installation depicts a darkened domestic interior. As the days of Hanukkah progress, the scene will be illuminated by unexpected and miraculous light sources. The work celebrates the light of home and dispels the long dark of winter.
